Better systems.
More room to grow.

Software, websites, and connected workflows. Explore the work and the approaches behind it.

I’m not currently taking on new independent consulting or development projects.

Your AI-first software engineer

Part of your team.

I work with your team, connect your tools, and put your ideas into action. We start with one improvement you can measure.

Remove repeat admin, reduce costly mistakes, and make it easier for customers to buy. We choose the improvement that matters most to you.

See what that can include

Start with one workflow

Embedded software
engineering

A working improvement to an agreed workflow, with the setup, testing, documentation, and training your team needs to use it.

Clear deliverables, milestones, and a handover help your team keep the improvement working.

Find the fit.

A workflow map, ranked priorities, and a clear delivery plan. Choose a target: faster replies, lower costs, more completed purchases, or fewer errors.

Connect the pieces.

Connected forms, customer records, reports, and follow-ups. Reduce repeat data entry, catch enquiries, and get reports without assembling them by hand.

Keep you in control.

Tested changes, clear instructions, and a walkthrough with your team. Know how to run what we build. Keep support while it helps, then scale it down or wrap it up.

How we’ll work together

A small workflow gives the project a clear starting point. Agreed deliverables, milestones, and checks make progress visible.

Testing, documentation, training, and a handover help your team run the result. A roadmap records the next priorities without hiding the decisions that need your review.

Consultation

A clearer next step.

A conversation about a workflow, an idea, or a technical question can help identify the next change worth making.

Practical advice.

What’s included in Site and Build

I take care of hosting, DNS, and domain registration. Free email forwarding sends messages to the inbox you already use. A paid mailbox is optional and costs extra.

We set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Your site uses compressed images and a responsive layout for fast loading. It supports current Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Your site includes a contact page and working form, a thank-you page, and your contact details in the text. Search and sharing basics include unique titles and descriptions, a sitemap, robots.txt, alt text, a favicon, a custom 404, and a share image per page.

You also get an FAQ, structured data, privacy and terms pages, a cookie notice, and a clear next step on mobile.

Small fixes, domain registration, and hosting help keep a site working after launch. Traffic, premium domains, and paid integrations need their own scope review.

We agree on scope, priorities, and timing before work starts. Site and Build cover website work. Embedded software engineering has its own agreed scope. Read the service terms.

How we work

  1. Show me how you work.

Start with a voice note. We look at the job with the people doing it and agree on what needs to improve. We record where things stand so we can measure the change.

  2. Build alongside you.

We choose a goal for the next 30 days. I build with the tools you already use. We agree on the scope and check in each week.

  3. See what changed.

Did it save time, reduce errors, or help sales? We check the result together. I show you how to run it, then we decide whether you need more help.

Good questions.

Who is Dylan J. Harris?

Dylan J. Harris is a software engineer and creative consultant. He explores what AI can do, builds useful things, and shares what he learns.

What kinds of things do you build?

AI systems, custom software, websites, connected workflows, and creative experiments. The work starts with a useful outcome and a clear scope.

Where can I see your work?

The Portfolio has software, websites, and connected workflows. The Lab has games and experiments. Writing and the AI directory share what Dylan is learning along the way.

Are you taking on new projects?

I’m not currently taking on new independent consulting or development projects. Contact me for more information about the work.

Where should I start?

Get in touch through the contact page. Share your idea, what you have tried, and what is getting in the way. Dylan can discuss availability and a useful next step with you.

Do I need to know which tools to use?

No. Start with the goal and the problem. The right tools depend on what you need, what already works, and who will use the result.

How is a project scoped?

We discuss the outcome, current tools, and constraints first. Deliverables, timing, fees, and responsibilities need agreement before work begins.

Will I learn to manage what we build?

Documentation, training, handoff, and ongoing help can be included in the agreed scope. The goal is to give you useful tools and the skills to run them.
